The UUSO endowment was created to fund both activities in the Society which are not normally part of the operating budget and in the community that are consistent with the principles of Unitarian Universalism.
The Endowment Committee is charged with the stewardship of the Community Fund and the Endowment Fund. This stewardship includes: the raising, the administration, as well as the disbursement of the income from those funds.
The financial sustainability of our mission is supported through the Love, Alice Legacy Fund. We implement the work of our mission by managing funds that specifically support social justice and caring for our local and world communities through our Community Fund, West African Fund (which supports our Mali Education Project), and the Mara Kern Library Fund (which supplies our UUSO child and adult libraries with subjects that reflect and promote our UU values).
The UUSO Community Fund supports our local community and our faith community through the dispersal of grants to eligible applicants. To apply for a UUSO Endowment Grant, an organization needs to be a non-profit 501C3 and be aligned in its mission with Unitarian Universalist values which are LOVE, INTERDEPENDENCE, EQUITY, TRANSFORMATION, PLURALISM, GENEROSITY, and JUSTICE. The annual application window is open from mid-September through mid-October. When active, the fillable form can be found on this webpage.
